{"id":11062,"date":"2020-09-10T07:53:01","date_gmt":"2020-09-10T11:53:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/boilermaker.ca\/?p=11062"},"modified":"2020-09-10T07:53:01","modified_gmt":"2020-09-10T11:53:01","slug":"the-latest-carbon-capture-utilization-and-storage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/boilermaker.ca\/en\/the-latest-carbon-capture-utilization-and-storage\/","title":{"rendered":"The Latest: Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recent articles on <a href=\"https:\/\/boilermaker.ca\/en\/ccs-bridge-to-a-cleaner-energy-future\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage<\/a> (CCUS)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Recently CBC News released an article <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/news\/business\/canada-national-hydrogen-strategy-1.5713137\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">How Ottawa hopes to supercharge Canada\u2019s hydrogen fuel sector<\/a>. CCUS is a part of this solution along with the need to build the infrastructure to process, store, transport and sell the hydrogen.<\/li>\n<li>In July the Energy Future Forum released it&#8217;s policy position paper on Canada\u2019s quest for a clean energy future that meets environmental and economic goals. It calls on the federal government to immediately lend support to the development and implementation of Canada\u2019s unique carbon capture, utilization and storage technology, something that the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers have been supporting for long time. The policy position paper <a href=\"https:\/\/ppforum.ca\/articles\/carbon-capture-utilization-and-storage-the-time-is-now\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage: Its time to Act<\/a> has the support of many of our clients including Shell, Imperial oil and Suncor, among others.<\/li>\n<li>On June 24th we asked Boilermakers to write the Minister of the Environment and Minister of Natural Resources regarding CCUS.
