{"id":15940,"date":"2026-06-05T11:44:45","date_gmt":"2026-06-05T15:44:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/boilermaker.ca\/?p=15940"},"modified":"2026-06-05T11:44:45","modified_gmt":"2026-06-05T15:44:45","slug":"2026-canadian-boilermaker-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/boilermaker.ca\/en\/2026-canadian-boilermaker-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"2026 Canadian Boilermaker Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Canada woke up with four new champions this morning. <\/p>\n<p>IBB Local 73 hosted the 2026 Canadian Boilermaker Competition in Saint John, New Brunswick on June third and fourth, recognizing the achievements of the competitors and celebrating our Unions commitment to excellence in the performance of our craft.<\/p>\n<p>The top boilermakers and welders from each local across Canada came together to showcase their skills, learn from each other and the judges, and vie to be recognized as the best in the land. Each Local chose their representatives based not just on their technical abilities as demonstrated throughout their apprenticeships, but also on their attitude on the job. It is the right combination of skill and mindset that creates leaders, and these are the people that gathered to demonstrate how powerful that can be.<\/p>\n<p>The winners of his year\u2019s competition are:<br \/>\n    <strong>    Top Boilermaker: Cory Demone (Local 73)<br \/>\n\tTop Welder: Tyler Elliott (Local 128)<br \/>\n\tTop Team: Maxwell Reicher &#038; Jake Wendt (Local 146)<\/strong><br \/>\nCongratulations to the four winners. <\/p>\n<p>Congratulations and thanks are due to all competitors, judges, sponsors, contractors, Locals, staff, families, and anyone else who contributed to the success of this year\u2019s competition. Without the enthusiastic support of everyone involved, this event could not be the incredible a showcase of skill, support, and solidarity that it is. As Boilermakers, we know that our strength lies in how we support each other, and this competition is a powerful reminder that support isn\u2019t just watching each other\u2019s back on the jobsite, it\u2019s also recognizing and celebrating the hard work, passion, and dedication of the next generation of Boilermakers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Canada woke up with four new champions this morning.
