On September 5th construction lodges from across Canada met to discuss issues affecting Boilermakers and our industries. The meetings were chaired by IVP Joseph Maloney with an in-depth examination of the following topics: national training courses, bench rules survey results, carbon capture and storage (CCS), the new Canadian organizational chart, post job summary reports, membership forecasting and certifying contractors. On September 6th there was a training session for lodge apprenticeship & education trustees – followed the next day by dispatcher training on the national dispatch system.

Participating Canadian lodges were 73, 128, 146, 191, 271, 359, 555 and D10.

Cory Channon, Assistant to the International President, addressed the delegates to explain how Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) plays a role in achieving the targets of the Paris Agreement as well as the launch of a new website cleanerfutureccs.org .
