The fifth Industrial Sector Operations (ISO) conference was held in Las Vegas July 29-31 2014. International President, Newton B. Jones, opened the conference welcoming over 150 delegates across North America. President Jones told the Boilermaker leaders "I think it is important that you receive the broadest possible exposure to what is going on around the world in organized labour, because what happens globally can affect each one of us."

There were speakers to cover all aspects of concerns within the ISO for the Boilermakers. Pension updates for US & Canadian delegates, Union Steward Training, Industrial Health & Safety, Financial Officers Training, Industrial Sector History, Canadian Legislation, Communication skills for Organizers and Industrial organizing to name a few of the sessions.

There were guest speakers from IndustriALL to share the global challenges that workers from other parts of the world are dealing with. Pat Martin, NDP MP for Winnipeg Centre, spoke to the delegates about what is happening in the battle against asbestos, bankruptcy protection for workers' wages and global trade deals.

International Vice President of Canada, Joseph Maloney, spoke to the delegates on the opening day and had a Question & Answer session for the Canadian delegates.
