Call for Boilermakers to Help

Lodge D359 is asking for help to man a picket line in Regina. Their employer, Lehigh Cement, has locked them out to force concessions on members of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers at their plant at Victoria Plains, Fleet St. North, Regina.

Lehigh Cement has brought in 24hr security guards and have been staffing the terminal with employees from their aggregates side - we're not sure if they are unionized at this point in time, but they clearly have no issues with crossing a picket line.

As this is a very small unit of three fulltime Boilermakers and a fourth in the summer season this Lehigh Cement has locked their loyal employees out when the temperature is -40 with the wind chill. Currently the picketing is going on during the regular business hours of 9 to 5. Lehigh Cement is currently loading trucks outside those hours as well.

Boilermakers who live in the area are asked to support these Brothers by spending some time on the line.
