Lehigh Cement Ltd Continues to Lockout Boilermakers

A bargaining unit of three (3) Boilermaker Lodge D359 members have been locked out by their employer, Lehigh Cement, since January 21st at the Regina Cement Terminal at Victoria Plains, Fleet Street North. The first day of the lockout, the temperature was -40 with the wind chill. Lehigh is part of the HeidelbergCement Group, one of the world's largest manufacturers of building materials.

While the Boilermakers are perplexed as to why the Employer has preferred to lockout their loyal employees than to work out a deal, the Union is still willing to work with the Employer to get this unnecessary lockout settled. To further drag this dispute on, Lehigh has hired replacement workers at a lower wage. This is because the Saskatchewan labour laws allow a multinational corporation to treat it's employees, the people of Saskatchewan, as nothing more than indentured servants.

To further penalize their loyal employees, Lehigh will not have the time to meet until June 18th.

We are asking for your support of these three (3) Boilermakers who are very clearly being ill-treated by their Employer, Lehigh Cement, by completing the survey below.
