Lodge 128 Update
The International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmiths, Forgers & Helpers (IBB) are pleased to announce that the members of Lodge 128 have stood their ground and turned back an attempted raid by the Bricklayers on this proud local lodge led by former Business Manager Jim Watson, Larry Ste. Croix, Ken Kilday, Dean McNeil and David Morris.
We congratulate the members, executive Board and staff of Local 128 who worked together on behalf of the Boilermakers and their families by keeping the local lodge strong. Lodge 128 has been a proud local lodge of the IBB since 1947 by providing careers, benefits and services to Boilermakers of Ontario.
The Ontario Labour Relations Board (OLRB) hearings are coming up, with the next one scheduled for May 27, 2013. The Bricklayers are claiming IBB and Lodge 128 did not fight fairly to protect the Local. Now that the raiding period is over we hope they will do the right thing and withdraw their complaints at the OLRB. We will keep you updated as this situation evolves.
We encourage all members of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers to stay proud and united.
