Kirsty White - Boilermaker Barrel Racing Blacksmith
Kirsty White (a certified Blacksmith and Farrier from Big Valley, Alberta) is a professional Barrel Racer and lead trainer of Professional Barrel Racing Horses in Western Canada.
Among her many accomplishments are:
- Voted 2012 Cowgirl of the Year by her peers - a prestigious award
- Finished 3rd in the Canadian Finals Rodeo (Edmonton) on her American Quarter Horse Mare "Racy" therefore qualifying for the year end finals, November 2013 in Edmonton
- Qualified for the 2014 Calgary Stampede and most of the major US rodeos this winter
- Strong chance of winning the Canadian Title and Gold Buckle
Kirsty has two goals - to qualify for the Canadian finals next year (November 2014) and also to qualify for the National Finals Rodeo (World finals) in Las Vegas next December.
"Kirsty is a great role model and ambassador for the Boilermakers" commented Darwin Leitch. Kirsty is helping to recruit men and women for the ARIS (apprenticeship) recruitment program and she speaks at high schools in Alberta about achieving goals and dreams and the benefits of being a Union Boilermaker.
