Team Boilermaker Ranked #1190

The month of November is identified as Movember to recognize that the poor state of men's health is largely due to a lack of awareness and understanding of the health issues men face and that men are often reluctant to take action when they do not feel physically or mentally well.

One of the ways the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers helps its members is through the Health & Welfare programs that the union has negotiated and maintains in their collective agreements. One of the programs is the FSEAP (Family Services Assistance Program). FSEAP provides counselling, information and referral services for all Boilermaker Members of the National Health & Welfare Plan and their families. Services are free and confidential. Learn more by logging into your member account and viewing the November 11th announcement about FSEAP. For members who are not in the National Plan, please contact your local lodge for information on their programs.

Another way Boilermakers are changing the face of men's health is by growing moustaches and starting the conversation between family members, friends, coworkers, neighbours, clients, union members and employees that our health is important and we need to take care of it. The women in the Boilermakers help by reminding all the men in their lives the importance of taking care and getting medical checkups yearly.

Team Boilermaker is helping to bring men's health to the forefront right across the country, because good unionism is good citizenship.
