At the Boilermakers' 33rd Consolidated Convention in July delegates approved a new District Lodge to give better representation to 11 industrial locals in Ontario and Atlantic Canada. Local D-10 will operate the same as Local D-11 in Western Canada.

On October 24th, an election was held in Moncton, NB with the following officials being elected:

President - Jameson Amaral (Lodge D366)
Vice President - Jason Bosley (Lodge D387)
Business Manager/Secretary Treasurer - Tony Andrade (Lodge D366)
Trustees - Denise Bolton (Lodge D488), Mike Ettinger (Lodge D579), Dave (Spud) Stevenson (Lodge D454)

The elected officials will assume their respective duties on January 1, 2017. The new district will be funded in part from the portion of union dues that goes to the International and in part by contributions from the locals.

International Vice President of Canada, Joseph Maloney, is in total support of D-10 and is looking forward to working with the leadership of the local. International Representative Rob Lauzon, a former Business Manager/Secretary Treasurer of Local D-11, has worked hard to improve services to members of this part of the Boilermakers Union.
