Bursaries for Higher Education

The Robert J. Bursary is offered annually through the General Presidents' Maintenance Committee/National Maintenance Council, an alliance of International Building Trades Unions that negotiates and administers labour agreements tailored for maintenance work at industrial plants in Canada.

The child of a construction worker who is a member of one of the construction and building trades unions, whose local union has within its jurisdiction a general GPMA or NMA, can win a $1,000 bursary towards higher education. There are 88 bursaries across Canada.
