2013 Boilermakers Scholarship Program

To be eligible, the applicant must be a son, daughter, legally adopted child or dependent of a member in good standing. Applications are limited to high school seniors who will be entering their first year of academic study at a degree-granting, accredited college or university within one year of their high school graduation.
Applications will be accepted between January 1 and March 1, 2013. Applications postmarked after the March 1, 2013 deadline cannot be considered.
Scholarship candidates must submit the following:
- The official Scholarship Application (as revised December, 2012);
- Proof of relationship or dependency to the Boilermaker member;
- The applicant's high school transcript; and
- A 350 word (minimum), typed essay on this year's topic: List and explain five (5) reasons why pensions are important to our society; describe a good pensions core values and characteristics, identify current trends impacting pensions, and create a brief mission statement for a pension plan.
The Scholarship Committee has been appointed to review applications and select the winners. The winners will be selected on the basis of a variety of factors including academic achievement, career goals, extra-curricular activities, outside school activities and the applicant's essay.
