Brother Kenny B. Kilday, Chairman of the Trustees, Local 128, reports that Lodge 128 donated $30,000.00 to the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital in Burlington, ON.
Brother Kilday said "One of the proudest days of my Boilermaking career as an Executive of Local 128". Kenny further added "I dedicated my efforts to bring this venture to a suitable beginning to my younger sister Janice who passed away last year to cancer and the room dedicated on behalf of the I.B.B. Local 128 was the nuclear medicine room with a plaque on the wall outside the room, which is a vital tool in finding what ails us inside."
The Lodge 128 Executive Board was given an enlightening and educational tour of the Diagnostic Imaging Department which serves in excess of 100,000 patients annually. Lodge 128's donation will help to upgrade the software for the imaging equipment to allow for speedier results and better images to better serve the patients and their families in their time of concern and worry.
Brother Kilday finished by saying "I would like to thank all the Brothers and Sisters that joined us at this wonderful event and Joseph Brant for being so gracious in the welcome, speeches and tour of the facility."
Lodge 128 encourages all Boilermakers to follow this example within their communities, as we will all need our local hospitals and they need all the help they can get to stay afloat in these economic times.
