The Basic Steward Training Program, led by International Representative Kent Oliver, was hosted by Lodge 128 at their Burlington Training Centre on April 10th & 11th. The program included a full day of jurisdiction training.
Along with Oliver, International Representatives Marty Stranton and Cory Channon explained the basic foundations of trade jurisdiction and the various steps of claiming, protecting and disputing the work of the Construction Boilermaker.
The Steward’s role is clear in both the collective agreements and the IBB Constitution. The Basic Steward Training program helps the Member develop basic skills needed for success in safeguarding the interest of Members and assisting the Employer with the agreement.
