On January 27th through February 1st, seventeen Boilermakers from four International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Construction Lodges gathered in Toronto to participate in the Boilermaker Project Management program.
The program has been successful in helping Boilermaker Members prepare for the role of project manager. Many past participants are in project management roles at job sites across Canada. Others have used the skills learned in this program to gain employment in administration positions within a local lodge.
The program is facilitated by the Grant Jacobs, Director of Training, and Jonathan White, National Training Coordinator. The instructors for the program are Greg Blender, Fred Cox and Skipper Branscum. The Boilermaker Project Management program is a joint venture between the Union and the Boilermakers Contractors’ Association. Also making presentations as part of the program were Kent Oliver, International Representative, and Jason McInnis, National Director of Heath & Safety.
Boilermakers who are interested in the Project Management program should contact their Local Lodge Training Coordinator.
