To follow up on our posting “Boilermakers Support the Canadian Oil & Gas Industry”, the Canadian Action Centre has an online petition supporting the Industry. Learn more by reading the following.
Over 25,000 people have signed a petition from these anti-oil activists, asking the government not to support “Big Oil”. They claim to speak for oil and gas workers as they’re actively campaigning to shut down our energy industry – eliminating our jobs, ending careers, and harming our communities.
But who is “Big Oil”?
“Big Oil” is the hundreds of thousands of Canadians who would be out of work, without a pay cheque and without a career. “Big Oil” is big because it represents so many Canadians, so much of our GDP and so much of our economy.
That’s why we need your help.
In just a few short days, over 5,000 Canadians like you took action and signed the open letter from oil and gas workers and their supporters. Many more shared this letter with friends and family, reaching over 250,000 people in just one week!
But we can’t stop now. We still have far fewer signatures than those who want the end of Canadian oil and gas.
Will you please share our open letter with your friends, family and co-workers?
Together, we can show that Canadians DO want to support energy workers and a strong oil and gas sector is important for Canada’s future.
Thank you!
