Eighteen Boilermakers from five International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Construction Local Lodges gathered in Halifax to participate in the Boilermaker Project Management Program on January 29-February 2, 2018.

The program has been successful in preparing Boilermaker leaders for the role of managing a project. Many of the past participants are preparing and supervising jobs across Canada. There are also past participants managing local lodges today.

The program is led by Director of Training Grant Jacobs and National Training Coordinator Jonathon White. The instructors for the program are Greg Blender, Fred Cox and Skipper Branscum. The Boilermaker Project Management Program is supported by the Union and the Boilermakers Contractors Association.

As part of the program, Canadian International Vice-President of Boilermakers Joseph Maloney spoke with the participants regarding Boilermaker affairs across Canada. Assistant to the International President Cory Channon gave an update on the state of the maintenance industry in Canada.

Boilermakers who wish to participate in the 2019 Boilermaker Project Management Program are advised to contact their Business Manager or Training Coordinator.
