Boilermakers 2021 Scholarship Program

The International Brotherhood of Boilermakers has announced the 2021 Scholarship Program across North America with $12,000 designated to Canadian students. Beginning with the 2021 Scholarship Program, one applicant from the United States will be awarded with the Charles A. Jones Scholarship Award and one Canadian applicant will be awarded the Edward Power Scholarship Award.

To be eligible, the applicant must be a son, daughter, legally adopted child or dependent of a member in good standing who is a high school senior who will be entering their first year of academic study.

Applications may be submitted online between January 1 and March 1, 2021. Applications will not be accepted after the March 1, 2021 deadline. The topic of this year’s 350 word (min) to 500 word (max) typed essay:

The COVID-19 pandemic exposed cracks in the social safety net for workers all over the globe. What disparities did the pandemic expose and how, in the future, can unions be a force to strengthen society for the working class.
