Would we really rather use Russian oil than Canadian?

As August began, three tankers with a combined capacity of almost two million barrels of oil prepared to pass through the Strait of Juan de Fuca to refineries in Washington State. Two of these ships were American, en route from Alaska. The third, the Nordtulip, flying the Portuguese flag, was delivering Russian oil out of Vladivostok.

Industry Award of Excellence

Each year at the Awards Banquet the NTTF trustees take the opportunity to acknowledge an individual or individuals who over the years have demonstrated commitment, dedication, and support for apprenticeship training. The award is titled “Industry Award of Excellence.”

Lodge 128’s Michael Koepke Lands Champion Fish

Michael Koepke, a Boilermaker out of Lodge 128, recently won Lake Huron’s largest fishing derby by catching a 23lb chinook salmon that measured 38″ long and had a girth of 22″.

Lodge 73 Fall Outages

Lodge 73 reports that they will be in need of Travel Cards (and potentially permit workers) who are qualified for outage work in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
